“Your adventure begins here” at the base of majestic Mount Currie.
The Pemby Pounder is an exhilarating trail run race located in Pemberton, British Columbia, Canada that pounds the heart on the way up and the legs on the way down. Known for its challenging terrain and breathtaking views, this trail run offers an unforgettable experience for any trail runner.
Characterized by its steep climbs, technical descents, and varied landscapes, ranging from old growth forests to rugged alpine vistas and views to the valley floor. With its combination of natural beauty, heart pounding ascents and leg pounding descents, the Pemby Pounder is a must-run for anyone looking to experience the best of Pemberton’s Mackenzie trail network.
We offer two trail race options. We have a challenging 22km route that rewards runners with incredible views and for those who want to dip their toes into trail running or are not up for a tough half marathon, we have a fun 9km course.
Both courses begin in the valley at the base of the McKenzie trail network.
22km runners will have a flat to undulating start before tackling a long ‘heart-pounding’ climb trail. After reaching the lower paraglide launch and enjoying beautiful views, you will head uphill again through the stunning old-growth forest, aptly named Middle Earth, before taking on the leg-pounding descent all the way back to the valley.
9km runners will also encounter a flat to undulating start before tackling the Happy Trail climb and Waco connector. Afterward, it’s a fun, flowy descent back to Den Duyf park and the finish.
* $5 from every entry goes to Pemberton Valley Trails Association (PVTA)
** We have Youth pricing for those under 18 (age as end of 2025). Scroll down for youth registration details for both 22K and 9K events. This is not a separate category, it's simply a discounted rate for those under 18.

The Pemby Pounder Trail Run is grateful to work, live, play on & protect the shared, unceded territory of the Lil̓wat7úl (Lil’wat) Nations. We respect and commit to a deep consideration of their history, culture, stewardship, and voice.
In bringing this world-class trail race to Pemberton we have decided to fundraise for three important groups.
"The Recreation Department keeps The Líl̓wat Nation an active place, offering sports, recreation and leisure programs for all ages. All of the department’s activities are designed to benefit community members physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually."
2. Pemberton Valley Trails Association
"The PVTA is a not-for-profit, volunteer-run group with a mandate to build, maintain, and advocate for trails in Pemberton, BC. They are unique to the Sea to Sky corridor in that the association encompasses many multiple user groups such as Trail Runners, Mountain Bikers, Horse Riders, Moto users, Paragliders, Hikers and in Winter even Cross Country Skiers!
